Welcome to Knott University, where we are forging through the quagmire of bureaucracy, innovation, social pressure, and adventure. With a little goat poo and a few chickens thrown in for good measure.
We bought our property in Long Beach, WA two years ago, thinking that we would build a wonderful, large house for our family of four, have extensive gardens, and be done with it within a year. Oh how the mighty get redirected…and this blog is the story of how we got from there, to here, an off-grid, reclaimed material permaculture site for a family of 5, and how you, too, can be in on this journey.
We are not hippies, in the derogatory, dismissive sense. We do have a VW bus, but we do bathe, we don’t have a commune, but we do use home-made deodorant…we make choices based on information for a life that we feel is sustainable and beautiful. Ready? Jump on in!
